Three Houston residents convicted of participating in a bail bond fraud scheme in Harris County will be sentenced on December 31st.
Federal prosecutors announced on Wednesday that Kamaiga Gholar, James Bateson, and Katherine O’Brien had been found guilty of conspiracy and wire fraud. They were among dozens of suspects arrested in a scheme that used falsified bail bond documents to fraudulently secure the release of Harris County jail inmates. They each face up to 20 years in federal prison per count, and a possible six-figure fine.
