An effort to stay on Daylight Saving time in Texas requires permission from Congress, and there is plenty of opposition.
Jay Pea heads a non-profit called Save Standard Time. He says there was a pilot program back in the 1970’s to keep the whole nation on Daylight Saving Time. It was cut short when parents complained about their children walking to school in the dark.
