Traffic Stop Leads To Confiscation Of Suspected Drug Cash

Local and federal authorities are working to track down the source of more than $700,000 found inside of a tractor-trailer rig.

Cameron County sheriff’s deputies had stopped the 18-wheeler for a traffic violation Saturday. They brought in a K-9 and the dog alerted deputies to the sleeping quarters where they found more than 700-thousand dollars in cash.

Charges against the driver are pending. Investigators are working to learn where the truck had come from and where it was going to.
