Travel Restrictions At U.S.-Mexico Border Extended

Travel restrictions will remain in place at the U.S.-Mexico border. The Department of Homeland Security has extended the ban on “non-essential travel” until at least August 21st over continued concerns about the spread of COVID-19, including the Delta variant.

Travel at the U.S.-Mexico border has been limited since March of last year. The restrictions have hit local businesses hard. The San Ysidro Chamber of Commerce says nearly 200 businesses have been forced to close due to the decreased foot traffic across the border.
