President Trump is insisting that he will not be sending American troops to Iran. The President was asked about it Thursday by a reporter during his White House meeting with Japan’s prime minister.

Trump said he wasn’t putting troops “anywhere,” and added, “If I were, I certainly wouldn’t tell you.”

Last week, reports said a Marine expeditionary unit with 25-hundred Marines and three amphibious assault ships was being sent to the region.
