The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two people died from suspected drug overdoses.

Deputies were called to the 46-hundred block of East Joel Cardoza Street on Sunday evening. They found the bodies of Stephen Cardoza and Analilia Juarez, as well as with some type of drug paraphernalia.

Autopsies found the presence of fentanyl and other illicit drugs. Sheriff Eddie Guerra noted that any illicit substance may be laced with fentanyl, noting that the drug can be deadly even in small amounts.
