Two Hidalgo County Deputies Placed On Leave After Deadly Officer-Involved Shooting


The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office has placed two deputies on paid leave after a deadly shooting.

A spokesperson tells The Monitor that one of the deputies has been with the Sheriff’s Office for six years, while the other has been a deputy for one year.

The deputies fired their weapons at an armed male suspect in the 82-hundred block of Ruben Navarro Street on Wednesday morning. The Sheriff’s Office declined requests for further information about the investigation.
