TX AG Files Lawsuit Against Electricity Company Griddy

The attorney general of Texas is suing electricity company Griddy for issuing sky-high bills during February’s record-breaking winter storm.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit today claiming Griddy “misled Texans” about their services and “made the suffering even worse” by charging outrageous amounts.

The lawsuit accuses Griddy of violating the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and seeks refunds for customers. This comes after Texas’ power grid manager shut down Griddy by revoking its access to the state’s electricity market.
