TX Senate Considers Bill Giving Farmers Greater Access To Low-Interest Loans

A bill that expands a successful loan program for the agriculture industry is up for debate in the Senate after passing the Texas House. At present, the Young Farmer program offers loans of up to 500 thousand dollars at five percent interest to farmers age 18 to 46.

The proposed House Bill 43 would make loans of up to a million dollars available to farmers of all ages at two percent interest.
