The House Freedom Caucus expects to add more Texas members after successful primaries in the state. Two challengers backed by the conservative group won their primaries.
State Representative Steve Toth defeated US Representative Dan Crenshaw. Gun rights activist Brandon Herrera was headed for a runoff against US Representative Tony Gonzales, who dropped out of the race last week.
In addition, attorney Jace Yarbrough is in a runoff against businessman Ryan Binkley in an open race for a redrawn district. Right now there are four Texans in the Freedom Caucus.
