US Stock Futures Rise Ahead Of Jobs Report; Europe Gains

(AP) — Futures for the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average are higher Friday morning ahead of a highly-anticipated report on the jobs market in the U.S. Shares in Europe and Asia mostly rose Friday, tracking the previous day’s rally on Wall Street. Benchmarks advanced in Japan, Australia and South Korea but declined in China. U.S. employment data due later in the day will offer insight into the economic recovery. Worries continue about the recent surges of illnesses in places like India. Export-dependent Japan is getting set to extend the state of emergency to curb the spread of infections.
