The Department of Agriculture is advising states that issued full November SNAP benefits based on a court decision to immediately “undo” them.
The agency warned states who fail to comply could lose future federal funding. The Saturday memo is a reversal of earlier guidance the USDA issued before the Supreme Court on Friday paused the distribution of full SNAP benefits, sending the case back to a lower court.
The latest guidance comes as a quick-paced legal battle brews over whether the federal government should continue to disburse SNAP benefits.
