Valley Border Patrol Agents Release Some Immigrants Without Hearing Date

Customs and Border Protection agents in the Rio Grande Valley release some immigrants without a hearing date.

The Monitor reported Sunday that due to overcrowding, some families are being released into the U.S. without a date for an immigration asylum petition court hearing.

The report says the CBP is green lighting agents in the Valley to use “prosecutorial discretion,” which provides for agents to let certain immigrants with no criminal or deportation background come into the U.S. without a firm asylum hearing court date.
