The Rio Valley Grande area has received 27-thousand doses of COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccines began shipping three weeks ago. In Hidalgo, Cameron and Starr counties some 21-percent of the dose total has already been given out. Cameron County Health Administrator Esmeralda Guajardo says the existing vaccine must be used up before a vaccination site will be given more doses.
