The president and CEO of the Valley Initiative for Development and Advancement is running for an open seat on the McAllen City Commission.
Felida Villarreal announced last week that she will run in a special election to replace Seby Haddad, who stepped down to run for the Texas House.
Villarreal is a McAllen native who also serves on the board of the RGV Chapter of the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas. She says that public service is the core of who she is, and that her priorities include economic development, public safety and community engagement.
