Voters Pick Nominees For South Texas Congressional Races

Voters have picked their nominees for this fall’s congressional races in South Texas.

Unofficial results show 34th District Congressman Vicente Gonzalez easily winning his Democratic primary against Etienne Rosas. He’s expected to face Republican candidate Eric Flores, who had a sizable lead over former Congresswoman Mayra Flores Tuesday night.

Democratic Congressman Henry Cuellar will face Republican Tan Tijerina in the District 28 congressional race in November. Singer Bobby Pulido also secured the Democratic nomination for House District 15 and will take on Republican Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz this fall.
