If you have a property in Weslaco and haven’t paid the water bill, you are about to get cut off. City officials say delinquent water bill accounts will have their service cut starting November 1st.
The reason for the drastic measure is because delinquencies have risen from 55-thousand dollars’ worth prior to the appearance of COVID-19 to over three-hundred-thousand dollars’ worth as of late August.
City Manager Mike Perez says those with outstanding balances from March through October this year can apply for a payment plan to make it easier to trim the debt and to avoid the shut off.
