DPS troopers are looking into factors that caused a driver to hit and kill a teenage girl north of Weslaco Tuesday night.
16-year-old Zitlali Diaz of Mercedes was walking in the westbound lane of Mile 10 North when she was hit from behind by a Ford Mustang near Mile 4 West. Diaz was killed instantly.
The driver stopped and called for help and there’ve been no arrests pending the DPS investigation.
