Weslaco-Area Homeowner Shoots And Kills Masked Burglar


A burglary suspect was shot and killed, and authorities are looking for his partner following a home invasion north of Weslaco.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office says the two suspects, armed and wearing black masks, burst into the home near Mile 9 North and Mile 6-1/2 West Sunday afternoon. The homeowner was also armed and opened fire, and the suspects sped off.

Weslaco police spotted the car at Knapp Medical Center where one of the suspects, 33-year-old Adan Izaguirre, later died. The search continues for the second suspect.
