White House: Coming Weeks “Challenging” In COVID Omicron Surge


The top White House COVID adviser warns that the coming weeks will be “challenging” due to the surge of the Omicron¬† variant.

Jeff Zients told reporters the government has the tools to deal with the growing threat. He said unvaccinated people remain at much greater risk. Zients again urged everyone to get fully vaccinated.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky made a big pitch for booster shots. She added the daily average number of new COVID cases is up 98-percent from the last reporting week.
