A woman is facing charges in Alamo after allegedly kicking and punching a police officer. Investigators say the assault happened Sunday during a traffic stop in the 500 block of Fannin Avenue.

The driver and a front-seat passenger both reportedly refused to step out of the vehicle. Twenty-four-year-old Samantha Martinez allegedly kicked an officer in the groin and then punched him in the face when he opened the passenger side door of the vehicle. She was arraigned Monday on multiple charges, including assault on a public servant and resisting arrest.
