By Zoos all across Texas are being hit with a rash of break-ins. Tim Morrow, who heads San Antonio’s Zoo, is backing a bill that would make it a felony to break into parks like his. And jail time would go up if someone harasses the animals.
The issue came to a head in 2023, at the Dallas Zoo. Someone stole two monkeys and damaged the enclosure of a clouded leopard, which escaped.
