A San Antonio woman has died following a crash in Hidalgo County. The county sheriff’s office says a deputy was traveling north on U.S. 281 yesterday when the woman lost control of a box truck at the intersection of El Rucio Road.
The truck flipped on its side and 25-year-old Cassandra Nicole Chavez Martinez died at the scene. The deputy was treated for injuries at a local hospital. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
