U.S. Customs and Border Protection says more than 600-thousand dollars in suspected cocaine was seized during an inspection last week.

A white Ford entering the U.S. from Mexico was stopped Friday by officers at the Hidalgo International Bridge. A physical inspection led to the discovery of 20 packages of suspected cocaine weighing just over 50 pounds.

The drugs and the vehicle were seized, and the driver was taken into custody by Homeland Security Investigations.
