The founder of San Antonio-based Las Palapas restaurants is dead of a stabbing attack, and a suspect is in custody.
Police say Edward “Ron” Acosta was stabbed to death on Tuesday morning at his North Side home on Reata Trail. The suspect has been identified as David Ruiz, reportedly a relative of Acosta’s, who was visiting from California.
Kimble County deputies arrested Ruiz several hours after the deadly stabbing and charged him with murder.
