Firework Damage Coverage

Setting off fireworks on the Fourth of July can be fun, but they can also do a lot of damage. And, depending on where you live, that may not be covered by your homeowners insurance.

Rich Johnson with the Texas Department of Insurance says it all comes down to local rules. If fireworks are banned in your city then you may not be covered. And, in most major Texas cities, setting off fireworks is a Class C misdemeanor.
