Harris County officials are announcing a no-refusal weekend to discourage drunk driving during the Fourth of July holiday.
Increased patrols from local police, sheriff’s deputies, state troopers, and the Coast Guard will be on the lookout for drunk drivers and boaters. In a Wednesday news conference, officials urged residents to use designated drivers, rideshares, or public transport.
There hasn’t been an intoxication manslaughter case in Harris County over the past four July 4th holiday weekends, and officials aim to keep it that way.
