California’s Central Coast is losing land to the Gifford Fire. The flames have burned through nearly 50-thousand acres and the wildfire is just three percent contained after starting on Friday northeast of Santa Maria — not far from the Madre Fire burn scar.

Around 360 homes in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties are currently threatened and at least three people have been injured.
