One of Texas’s biggest public colleges is banning teachers from discussing transgender issues with their students.

The head of Texas Tech said in a letter that the move in response to a presidential executive order, recognizing only male and female sexes.

Chancellor Tedd Mitchell wrote that teacher’s First Amendment rights end when they enter the classroom. He called the issue “a developing area of law.”
