The Trump administration is offering U-T Austin preferential access to federal funding if the school agrees to certain “operating principles.” The University of Texas System confirmed the offer on Thursday.
Media sources say U-T is one of nine universities selected to be part of the proposal. The schools would have to end race and sex quotas in admissions and hiring, freeze tuition for five years, require applicants to take the SAT, shut down disruptive protests, cap enrollment of foreign undergrads at 15 percent, and be politically neutral.
