Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend near the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley. The assault was reported in the 800 block of West University Drive early Sunday.
The unidentified suspect reportedly brandished a machete at the woman and threatened to kill her. Investigators were unable to locate the suspect in the area or at his home.
