By A high school teacher has announced her campaign to represent South Texas in the state legislature. Edinburg’s Vangela Churchill announced her run for the District 40 seat in the Texas House Tuesday.
The Republican candidate attacked Democrats for being out of touch with the struggles of Rio Grande Valley families and vowed to be their voice in Austin. Democratic Representative Terry Canales currently holds the seat.
