A Venezuelan oil tanker seized nearly two weeks ago by the US Navy is anchored about 50 miles off the shore of Galveston. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem released video at the time of the capture, showing US forces boarding the ship, named the Skipper. Officials say the ship is one of a ghost fleet of tankers, which means it reportedly used false flags or “spoof routes” to move sanctioned oil exports outside of Western regulations.
