The City of Alton will have a dedicated ambulance stationed at the fire department. The city has signed a 300-thousand-dollar contract with Med Care EMS to provide the ambulance for one year.
Two Med Care paramedics will be assigned to the ambulance. Officials say the dedicated ambulance will respond more quickly to medical emergencies in the city.
