Calls to a local National Alliance on Mental Illness helpline are spiking ever since the suicide of 19-year-old Camila Olmos.

An executive with NAMI Greater San Antonio says their mental health “warm line” is getting two or three times as many calls as it usually does. He says that’s a sign that more people are reaching out for help.

The warm line is a free pre-crisis line that can connect callers to specialists who provide resources and support. The number is (210) 939-9999, and it can be called from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.
