Kerr County is releasing thousands of pages of texts and emails revealing officials’ response as the July 4th floods hit the Hill Country. The records made public on Tuesday afternoon include messages between top county leaders as they responded to the unfolding disaster.
The officials include Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly, Sheriff Larry Leitha, and Emergency Management Coordinator Dub Thomas. State officials have criticized the three leaders for their response to the flood, which killed more than 117 people.
