Nearly three dozen North Texas fire departments are assisting with two wildfires in the Panhandle.

The deployment adds up to about 100 personnel from DFW. The Texas A&M Forest Service says the fires have burned 21 thousand acres near Amarillo, driven by strong winds and dry conditions.

Dallas Fire Rescue and the Fort Worth Fire Department have sent help, along with fire departments from Arlington, Grand Prairie, Plano, North Richland Hills, Desoto, Carrollton, and others.
