By A Department of Public Safety Trooper has been laid to rest following his death last month. Daniel Shown was shot in the line of duty in 1988, resulting in the loss of his right eye and leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. His death was attributed to complications from those injuries. He was 66 years old.
