The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley is issuing a warning about social media posts that share information about food distribution events.

Food Bank officials say they’re seeing posts on social media that send people to events that have already happened. Other posts give false information about distributions that aren’t scheduled.

The Food Bank says the misleading posts cause disappointment and waste people’s time and gas. Anyone interested in Food Bank RGV events should check the group’s official Facebook page or website.
