A South Texas businessman has pleaded guilty to federal witness tampering charges. Forty-seven-year-old Jorge O’Cana, Junior, of Mission entered his guilty plea in federal court in McAllen Tuesday.

Investigators said O’Cana tried to prevent a witness’s testimony in a federal bribery investigation in 2022. He could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to 250-thousand dollars when he is sentenced.
