NASA says a potentially hazardous asteroid will fly past the Earth in 2029. The asteroid is called Apophis, which comes from the ancient Egyptian god of chaos.

ASA’s website says it will “safely pass” about 20-thousand miles from Earth on April 13th, 2029. The space agency noted that distance is “closer than the distance of many satellites” in orbit.

Apophis was first discovered in 2004 by astronomers at Kitt Peak National Observatory in Tucson, Arizona.
