A Montgomery County man is accused of secretly giving an abortion pill to his pregnant girlfriend, resulting in the death of her unborn child. A grand jury indicted Jon Demeter this week for first-degree abortion and injury to a child.
Investigators say Demeter ordered the drug online, crushed a pill, and mixed it into his girlfriend’s drink. She was soon hospitalized with cramps and bleeding and delivered the 14-week fetus, which didn’t survive. If he’s convicted, Demeter faces a possible sentence of up to life in prison.
