The Chicago police Department says five officers were hit by a car while on duty. The incident happened early Sunday morning as the officers were helping disperse a large crowd.
The CPD said a blue vehicle traveling westbound in an eastbound lane jumped a curb and slammed into a patrol car, a utility pole and a fence before coming to a stop.
Police arrested the 18-year-old male driver. Charges are pending and a weapon was recovered from the vehicle.
