Maine Democrat Graham Platner is suspending his Senate race after being accused of sexual assault.

Platner released a video Wednesday maintaining his innocence, and claiming “those in power” are using the allegations to take away his ability to run for Senate by withholding funding.

The Maine Democratic Party has released a statement saying they have voted to hold a nominating convention to choose a new nominee.
