A Massachusetts woman who’s serving two life sentences for killing her children is being granted a new trial because of similarities to the Lindsay Clancy case.
In a unanimous decision on Thursday, the Massachusetts Supreme Court ruled that the jury should have heard evidence of mental illness in the case of Latarsha Sanders, who was convicted in 2022 in the same county where Clancy is currently on trial for the deaths of her children, with the same judge presiding.
Sanders was granted a new trial after the court ruled the judge wrongly excluded her psychiatric records.
