A federal magistrate judge is recommending a continued pause on border wall construction near the Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge. Judge Juan F. Alanis made his recommendation yesterday.

Hidalgo County Irrigation District Number Two filed a lawsuit against government contractors for trespassing on land owned by the district, but the government wants the lawsuit dismissed and construction restarted.

Judge Alanis recommended keeping the restraining order in place until the lawsuit is settled. A U.S. District Court judge will now review the recommendation.
