Governor Greg Abbott says he supports a ban on intoxicating THC products. In media interviews on Tuesday, Abbott said he wants to keep non-intoxicating hemp products available, but ban the ones that get users high.

The governor vetoed a ban on these products in the spring, in favor of more regulation. Abbott says he wants a zero-point-three-percent THC cap on all hemp-based products.

The state has already placed that limit on Delta-9 THC concentration in hemp products, but not on Delta-8 and other synthetic strains.
