Authorities say nearly three dozen dogs were removed from a home in Edinburg yesterday. Police and animal control officers went to a home in the 200 block of West Peter Street after a report of a strong odor.

The investigation found multiple dogs in need of care. Officials say the owner of the home voluntarily released the animals, adding that a health problem may have kept the owner from properly caring for the dogs.
