The top issue in this spring’s Texas Republican primary is border security. Gov. Greg Abbott is working to unseat the House Republicans who voted with Democrats to defeat his school voucher plan, while Attorney General Ken Paxton has set his sights on House Republicans who voted to impeach him last May. But illegal immigration prompted by the Biden administration’s open-border policy is dominating the primaries more than any other issue. The state primary elections are coming up on March 5th.
