South Texas Congressman Henry Cuellar is working to secure federal funding for a project to improve the Mission Animal Shelter.
The Laredo congressman met with city leaders on Monday to discuss a one-million-dollar Community Project Funding grant for the project.
Improvements would include heating and ventilation, as well as the purchase and installation of essential equipment. Shelter officials hope the project will reduce overcrowding and improve the facility’s layout.
